Have a question?
We’ve called Reading home for over 10 years!
Healthy Changes Pilates has been open in Reading Ma since 2008. We have been helping the local community discover all the benefits of Pilates and sharing our passion.
Here’s what to expect from our Pilates studio:
1) Your connections. Pilates is an experience that you grow with over time. It does take time, patience, and consistency. It is one of the few exercises that become more challenging as you continue to practice it. If you don’t “feel it” then you most likely have not connected yet, you will! We will help you get there!
2) A teacher that pays attention to your individual body, modifies the exercises as needed and does not consider your time their own personal exercise time. You come first! The teacher stays attentive to make sure you stay safe and get results.
3) Semi Private small classes. This is very different than a large group class. With just 6 students in class you will receive personalized cues and hands on adjustments something that is not possible in large group classes. This will create many “ahh moments” during your Pilates experience with us. It is recommended that you practice Pilates a minimum of 2 times per week. The more often you practice the faster you will achieve results.
4) A comfortable, friendly environment where you can re-energize and enjoy Pilates! You can expect to connect with more than just your core at Healthy Changes! The small intimate Pilates classes support a great social network where you can work out and get to know new friends who all share the same Pilates passion!
A Holistic Approach
Joseph Pilates considered Pilates to be a way of life.
Joseph Pilates believed through Pilates you could achieve your highest potential physically, mentally & emotionally. A strong body representing a strong mind, a stronger mind creating a stronger body… all of this transferring into ultimate happiness and a better world to live in. (Pilates, J. (1945). Return to Life Through Contrology).
Find balance… In what you are eating, in your physical activity, and in all other aspects of your life. In addition to your regular Pilates practice we suggest the following:
You are what you eat… literally.
Eat foods that are energizing, fresh and wholesome. Foods that make you “feel” good! Focus on eating more fruits and vegetables with vibrant colors
Eat less sugar, salt and processed foods
Remember balance, moderation and portion control
Small changes can make a huge difference. Try eating dinner at an earlier time & stop snacking at night, you will see a difference
Plan ahead, stock your house with foods that are healthier
Listen to your body. The body awareness you will learn in Pilates will help you to tune in to what your body really needs!

Not finding time to exercise? Plan ahead! Make your exercise time like an appointment that can’t be skipped. It is your time & you deserve it! You will love the results you get from commitment to exercise! It will become part of your lifestyle. Balance your exercise time between cardio, strength & flexibility.
